Warehouses

Arrange inventory in warehouses...
GBMS lets organizations structure and arrange inventory in defined warehouses, zones and locations. The warehouse is the top-level location for all inventory transactions. Whether entered by the user or the system, each inventory transaction requires the identification of a warehouse.

Warehouses can identify actual physical buildings, or logical areas within a single building that separate inventory that should not be commingled. For example, a single building with two separate receiving stations for different inventory types could be divided into two separate GBMS warehouses.

Add an unlimited number of zones or locations...
Each warehouse is assigned 5 system locations, which cannot be deleted. These system locations allow GBMS to protect inventory as it is moved through processes, such as receiving, inspection and put-away. Additionally, you can add an unlimited number of zones or inventory locations to each warehouse as desired.

A zone is either a physical or logical area that may contain multiple locations within a warehouse. Zones enable companies to identify, for example, areas that have special environmental conditions (e.g., a freezer area) or special equipment requirements (e.g., height restrictions that require equipment, such as forklifts).

Save time with the Location Wizard...
Location entry is facilitated with a Location Wizard that generates location ID's and assigns location settings, such as location type and dimensions.
