Inventory Movement

Transfer items without requiring related documents...

The simplicity of the inventory move transaction streamlines warehouse maintenance. Users can use the inventory move transaction to transfer inventory items between locations and/or warehouses, without needing related documents, such as picks and transfers.

Depending on whether the transaction is being performed real-time, inventory moves may be performed using the GBMS DC program or from the main graphical user interface.

Simplified process...

Users simply identify an originating and destination warehouse and location for each item being moved. If the user is performing the transaction from the GBMS DC application, users can scan the information from barcoded labels as the actual move is taking place.

Additionally, speed up data entry by locking the value of the item, warehouse, and location fields.

Protect transactions…

Movements from and to ‘system’ locations (i.e., the REC, SHIP and INSP locations) are protected by a separate user privilege, enabling you to control what users can move.

Take advantage of the containerization feature…

If you are using GBMS’ containerization feature, you can move inventory even easier as it only requires you to scan the container ID and destination location. The system already has a record of the ‘from’ location, item ID, item quantity, and serial / lot information specific to the unique container ID.

Generate detailed report…

GBMS lets you generate the Inventory Transaction report, which you can filter by transaction type. View a list of move transactions, including the locations, item number, item description, warehouse, serial / lot information, transaction time, and user ID. Sort this report by location ID, item number or item.

Use the data collection user interface to quickly move items between warehouses or locations. (Click here for more examples.)
