Overview |
|
· Picking, Packing & Shipping — Set up automatic pick generation based on specified criteria. Reduce time by picking and packing in one step. Utilize pack-and-ship features to automatically capture weight and serial numbers, as well as generate shipping documents, labels and reports. More… · Shipment Loading, Manifesting & Verification — Update packing and shipping information from the Shipments screen without needing to edit related orders. Capture container-specific carrier tracking numbers. Use the manifesting tool to combine multiple orders into one master shipment. · Receiving — Maximize accuracy with paperless receiving, using wireless (RF) hand-held scanners. Automatically print bar code labels during receiving. GBMS immediately updates related purchase orders and inventory levels as goods are received into the system. More… · Inspection — Flag items for inspection, which prompts GBMS to automatically generate an inspection advice when a receipt is closed. Goods are then moved from receiving to the inspection location. Along with recording pass/fail information, users can add notes for each line, which are archived. More… · Put Away — Specify whether to perform an automatic or manual put way transaction. Accurately put away items by scanning the item ID or location label, or applicable serial / lot information. Quick-scan container numbers for put away of pre-packaged items. More… · Inventory Adjustments — Use the main graphical user interface or a hand-held device to adjust inventory. Each adjustment requires specified reason codes, which are saved in an audit trail. Separate privileges protect the transaction. More… · Inventory Movement — Transfer inventory items between locations and/or warehouses without requiring related documents. The system generates a complete audit trail with the user ID and also date and time stamp. More… · Warehouse Transfers — Track inventory movement to remote warehouses, with complete pick, ship, receive, and put away information. · Physical Inventory & Cycle Counting — Use the Physical Inventory features to count an entire warehouse. Or, issue Cycle Counts by warehouse, zone, item category, and/or items that have not been counted in a specified number of days. Bar coded inventory count tickets maximize audit capabilities. · Inventory Analysis — Use several convenient screens to analyze inventory in real-time. For example, quickly view summary and detail information about on-hand and available inventory levels. Also, easily look up inventory holds and transactions. · Serial & Lot Control — View complete history for each serial and lot number for every stage in the inventory lifecycle. Generate barcoded lot and serial labels. More… · Item Master — Define up to 11 different item configurations that control how items are treated in the system. The main item types are Build, Cost, Kit, Purchase, and Service. Define item categories to speed up data entry. Track both active and inactive items with detailed historical information. Utilize the Containerization feature to track items via a container ’license plate’ that moves packaged items through inventory. More… · Warehouses — Define an unlimited amount of warehouses, zones and locations. Warehouse-specific flags provide directed or automatic put away process. Set up a flag to allow / restrict shipments from each warehouse. Print bar coded location labels on-demand. More… · On-The-Water Inventory Tracking — Set up transit warehouses to track on-the-water containers shipped from overseas. More…

As the heart of the GBMS system, the Warehouse Management System (WMS) encompasses all the day-to-day transactions that run a warehouse or distribution center, with fully integrated data collection technologies, such as bar code scanning, bar code printing, and wireless mobile data collection. This complete warehouse system includes picking, packing, put away, shipping, receiving, inspection, inventory analysis, inventory moves and adjustments, warehouse transfers, inventory counting, warehouse and location maintenance, on-the-water inventory tracking, as well as serial and lot tracking. Access the WMS application from any web-enabled PC or a Radio Frequency (RF) hand-held device, simplifying implementation and upgrades. WMS can run as a stand-alone system, or integrate with other GBMS modules or third-party applications (e.g., existing ERP, Order Entry, Purchasing, and/or Financial systems). |
