Interface To Accounting |

Overview |
|
The GBMS-MGP and GBMS-QB Accounting Interfaces provide complete integrated accounting functionality with GBMS’ bar code-based business management system. The GBMS solution offers customers a system for warehouse management, shop floor control, labor tracking, attendance, workforce management, and front office automation. By partnering with Microsoft Great Plains (MGP) and QuickBooks (QB) to build an interface to MGP and QB, GBMS is now out-of-the-box ready with an accounting system delivered as one complete solution. |
Setting up the GBMS-MGP or GBMS-QB Interface is easy ─ customers choose the scenario that is best for them: GBMS-intensive or MGP or QB-intensive. For customers who already have a GBMS system installed, or who are installing GBMS and MGP or QB concurrently, the GBMS-intensive implementation minimizes interaction with the MGP or QB software: only accounting information is entered in either MGP or QB. A second scenario, the MGP or QB-intensive system was developed for companies already running Small Business Manager, eEnterprise or Dynamics and who want to add on a bar code system for inventory transactions (such as shipping, receiving and inventory counts). The GBMS-MGP or QB Interface runs in a dedicated Windows session, allowing information to transfer real-time between the two systems and ensuring data integrity in the event of system down-time. The interface program also verifies that the GBMS and MGP or QB systems are in synch; if they are out of synch, it can provide an exception report and optional automatic notification (e-mail). Each transaction entered in the GBMS or MGP or QB interface is less than one minute. The interface program will periodically check the InterfaceQueue table, and the user can set the interval to the number of seconds to wait between checks. Benefits of adding MGP or QB to a GBMS system · Ability to track and analyze your business information and interconnect with other business applications, improving productivity throughout your business · In addition to AR, AP and GL, MGP and QB offers powerful functions such as intercompany processing, accounting level security, multicurrency and enterprise-level reporting and analytics
